Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains the small amount of browser storage the XDC Innovation Labs website (the “Site”) uses. In short: we use no tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. The Site stores only two values locally in your browser to remember your preferences.

1. What this Site uses

Rather than cookies, the Site uses the browser’s localStorage API to remember two simple preferences. These values stay on your device, are not sent to our servers, and are not used to track you across sites.

2. No tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies

We do not set advertising cookies, marketing pixels, cross-site trackers, or third-party analytics cookies. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell data. The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for cookieless visit counting; it sets no cookies and collects no personal identifiers — see our Privacy Policy §5a for details.

3. What is stored on your device

• xdc-theme — stores your chosen colour theme (dark or light) so the Site loads in your preferred appearance. Strictly a preference; set only when you toggle the theme (default is dark).
• xdc-cookie-ack — set to 1 when you click “Got it” on the cookie notice, so the notice is not shown to you again. This is a consent/acknowledgement flag, not a tracking identifier.

Both are first-party values, contain no personal identifiers, and never expire on a server because they never reach one — they live only in your browser until you clear them.

4. Third-party note — Google Fonts

The Site loads typefaces (DM Sans and JetBrains Mono) from the Google Fonts CDN. Serving a font file is a normal network request, during which Google may receive your IP address and request metadata. Google Fonts does not set advertising cookies for serving fonts, but its processing is governed by Google’s own policies, which we do not control.

5. How to clear or block this storage

You remain in full control. To remove the stored values:

• Open your browser settings and clear site data / browsing data for this domain; or
• Use your browser’s developer tools (Application → Local Storage in Chromium-based browsers) and delete the xdc-theme and xdc-cookie-ack keys; or
• Browse in a private / incognito window, where the values are discarded when you close it.

Clearing xdc-theme simply resets the Site to its default dark theme. Clearing xdc-cookie-ack means the cookie notice will appear again on your next visit. Blocking this storage does not break the Site.

6. Consent & the cookie notice

Because the Site uses only strictly-functional local storage and no tracking, the notice you see is primarily informational. Dismissing it records your acknowledgement in xdc-cookie-ack. For more on how we handle data generally, see our Privacy Policy.

7. Changes

If the Site’s storage practices change, we will update this page and its “Last updated” date.
